Q. My tree has dead branches, does the whole tree need to be removed?

Q. How much does it cost to cut down a tree?

Q. What is “stump grinding” and is it important?

Stump grinding is a method for eliminating tree stumps from a property by grinding it down into mulch.  We a specialty peace of equipment called a ‘stump grinder’ which grinds stumps down to beneath ground level.  Full stump removal is a much more involved process and creates a larger crater in the ground, so most people prefer stump grinding.

While its not necessary, many people prefer it for appearances sake.  You can fill in the area with soil or grass, making it much easier to maintain a lawn or yard.  Additionally, having stumps on your property can be safety hazard which should be avoided if possible. Q. Does stump grinding come with tree removal?

Because of the additional work and equipment needed for stump grinding, we do not include it with tree removal services, but it can be added on for an additional fee.  Please talk to your tree care specialist to discuss your exact needs.

Q. Is it important to have an insured tree company?

Yes! Insurance is a very important part of hiring a tree care provider.  It’s important for a company to both have liability and workers compensation insurance.  Also ask about the specific nature of the insurance, i.e.: landscaping companies may have liability insurance, but they do not cover workers climbing trees.  Ask your tree company for their specifics to insure you don’t end up footing the bill if there is an accident or injury on your premises.

Q. What is an Arborist?

An arborist is a professional trained in the full care of trees and shrubs.  Certification for arborists is delegated by the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture).
